The Indonesia China Business Council (ICBC) is a special member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). Established on June 6, 2002, it was founded with the approval of Mr. Aburizal Bakrie, former Chairman of KADIN and current Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia. ICBC’s main mission is to promote exchanges and cooperation between entrepreneurs of Indonesia and China, and to enhance trade, investment, and industrial activities between the two countries.
As a key bridge connecting business communities of Indonesia and China with strong business representation, ICBC has branches in 23 provinces across Indonesia, where provincial governors and local trade offices are ex-officio members. Its membership includes prominent local business leaders from all ethnic communities, including indigenous and Chinese Indonesian groups. Chinese enterprises may also join ICBC as members, and the council may establish representative offices in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Guided by the spirit of free trade, ICBC plays an active role in advancing cooperation and friendship between Indonesian and Chinese entrepreneurs, and is committed to being a reliable partner for international investors in Indonesia.
In accordance with government mandates and its articles of association, ICBC performs the following core functions:
- Promote business interactions between the business communities of Indonesia and China.
